A Brazilian bodybuilder was killed in a brutal attack by his wife after she accused him of cheating, according to authorities.

Valter de Vargas Aita, 41, was stabbed 21 times on Sept. 7 during a violent confrontation at the couple's apartment in Chapeco, a city in southern Brazil. Police say his wife, Carvalho Aita, used a kitchen knife to stab him in the jugular, head, torso, arms, and legs.
Gruesome evidence shows blood splattered throughout the apartment and stairwell. Investigators say Valter tried to escape after being attacked in his sleep but collapsed in the building's stairwell.
Witnesses reported hearing the bodybuilder cry, "My God, why are you doing this?" as he attempted to flee.
Carvalho had allegedly spent months obsessively tracking his movements, convinced he was being unfaithful. Police say she drilled holes in their walls to spy on him, took photos while he slept, and sent threatening messages that often ended with knife emojis.
Audio recordings captured her saying he would "pay" for his alleged infidelity. Valter reportedly told her he planned to leave a letter blaming her if anything happened to him.
Carvalho admitted to stabbing him three times but claimed self-defense, saying the knife was initially in his hand. Investigators believe she struck first while he slept, then chased him into the hallway.
The couple married in 2021 and had a history of heated disputes, including clashes over her involvement in religious rituals. Police say she was already wanted for armed attempted robbery in another state and is now charged with homicide.
Valter was a five-time state bodybuilding champion, a World Fitness Federation runner-up, and a popular personal trainer with a significant social media following.
