Dan Campbell isn't buying what Adam Schefter is selling. The Lions head coach fired back hard at an ESPN report claiming Detroit contacted the NFL about opponents targeting Aidan Hutchinson's legs.

Campbell called the report "bogus" and "bull," making it clear the team never reached out to the league office about its star defensive end.
"That's bogus. That's a bogus report," Campbell said, jabbing a finger for emphasis. "I don't know where that came from. Nobody from here ever did that. That's bull."
Schefter had said on Monday Night Countdown that the Lions asked the league to monitor how teams were blocking Hutchinson, who returned this season after fracturing his tibia and fibula last year. The report claimed Detroit grew concerned after noticing "a few instances" of players going low on Hutchinson in early games against Green Bay and Chicago.
Campbell wasn't having it.
"No, man. Nope," he said when asked if he'd seen any difference in how opponents are playing Hutchinson. "Game's played a certain way, that's the way it goes, man. It doesn't matter whether we're doing it or someone else is doing it to our guys. We know that and we play accordingly."
Schefter's report had cited a specific play involving Packers tight end John FitzPatrick going low on Hutchinson, adding that "the Lions have taken notice." Campbell flatly denied that any such communication with the league occurred.
Hutchinson, now healthy and off to a solid start in 2025, hasn't publicly addressed the report. But Campbell's tone left little room for interpretation. The Lions aren't crying foul — and they aren't looking for help from the league, either.
