The first race weekend at Chicagoland Speedway will take place July 3-5, 2026. It will feature two of the national NASCAR series, as well as the ARCA Menards Series.

Fans who want tickets to this weekend have multiple options. One option is to purchase single-day tickets providing access to one race on the schedule.

The Friday, July 3, ticket will cover the ARCA race. The Saturday, July 4, ticket will include the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series race. The Sunday, July 5, ticket will include the Cup Series race.

The other option is to purchase a two-day pass. This provides reserved grandstand seating for the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series race and the Cup Series race.

Chicagoland Speedway has hosted the Cup Series 19 times since the 2001 season when Kevin Harvick won. This track has featured some snoozers, but it has also showcased some wild finishes, such as Kyle Larson and Kyle Busch battling in 2018.

This particular finish, shown in the YouTube video below, featured Dale Earnhardt Jr. yelling "Slide job!" multiple times as Larson attempted a pass on the final lap. This took place in Earnhardt Jr.'s first time calling a race from the booth.

"I knew that if I went to the top (of the track), he was going to throw it in and pull a slider," Busch said about Larson during a 2019 interview with NBC Sports. "I knew that. I'm like, 'He's going to pull a slider. He's a dirt guy.'"

Larson added that he knew his only shot in this wild 2018 finish was to get into Busch and try to slow the No. 18 Toyota down. It initially worked as Larson got past Busch after putting the No. 18 into the wall. However, the battle did not end there.

Busch tagged Larson's No. 42 Chevrolet from behind and sent it sliding down toward the entrance of pit road. Larson saved the car and raced back toward the finish line, but he ended the race in second place while Busch won.

These racers will now return to Chicagoland Speedway in 2025, but this time they will use a different car. They will control the Gen 7 car, which has delivered excitement at intermediate tracks across the country.
