Ubisoft provided some minor details about this collaboration in a release detailing upcoming seasons of its open world racing game. According to the video game developer, Season 9 of "The Crew Motorfest" will introduce a dedicated NASCAR playlist and a curated selection of vehicles upon its release in March 2026.

FanBuzz spoke to NASCAR about this Ubisoft partnership and learned some more details. A spokesperson said that players will race in fictional settings while "rising through the ranks." They will ultimately work their way to "Cup Series-style" races, where they will compete against various Cup teams and drivers.

The exact teams and drivers, as well as the tracks, included in "The Crew Motorfest" will be part of later announcements about this partnership.

"This is a continuation of our strategy to bring NASCAR to life in relevant and popular motorsports games and communities to reach players and fans where they are spending their time and attention," the spokesperson added.

Ubisoft noted in its announcement that it will rework the physics, the camera, the controls, and the character of these vehicles in order to deliver a true NASCAR experience while "staying faithful" to "The Crew."

What is "The Crew?" It's a series of open world racing games created by Ubisoft Ivory Tower. The first provided players with an opportunity to race across a scaled down version of the United States while visiting locations such as Miami, Chicago, Detroit, New York, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.

This initial entry in the series featured more than 40 cars, which players could use to take part in police chases, story missions, side missions, multiplayer races, and free roam shenanigans.

"The Crew 2" built upon this foundation while introducing more vehicles and race modes. Players could take part in Street Racing, Off-road, Freestyle, and Pro Racing while controlling cars, airplanes, motorcycles, and powerboats.

"The Crew Motorfest" both scaled back the landscape while expanding on the formula and its lineup of vehicles. This game, Ubisoft's answer to the wildly popular "Forza Horizon" series, dropped players onto the Hawaiian island of O'ahu.

These players joined a car-themed festival and took part in hundreds of events spanning different realms of car culture. One dedicated playlist featured Japanese cars while another included Ferrari supercars.

One playlist highlighted the different vehicles associated with the Red Bull sponsorship while another put drivers in control of Formula 1 cars. The playlists continued with some featuring Lamborghini supercars, vintage vehicles from 1950-1980, and many other examples as Ubisoft Ivory Tower has continued updating the game.

Next year, these updates will include a new island and a different take on NASCAR Cup Series racing.
