Police say the suspect hit CardVault by Tom Brady on Lafayette Street back on October 20, the New York Post reported. Surveillance footage shows him in a Yankees cap, acting like a normal customer while trying to buy a stack of high-end merch. When his credit card got declined, he didn't bail — he tricked the tap-to-pay system and convinced the employee the transaction went through.

That was enough for him to scoop up roughly $9,700 worth of cards and head straight out the door.

NYPD released images Thursday showing the suspect inside the store. He's described as a male with a medium complexion, last seen in a black hoodie, black shorts, white socks, white sneakers, and carrying a multicolored bag with a cartoon graphic.

Shoppers outside the store couldn't believe someone would hit a place built around treasured collectibles. "That's terrible," one said. "People feel like the card has value. It's not just the money. I hope they find the guy."

Police haven't confirmed which cards were stolen, and the store declined comment.

Anyone with information is asked to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

Brady has not commented on the ordeal. The future Hall of Famer is due for another game as FOX's top NFL analyst this weekend.
