Paul had filed for an injunction and temporary restraining order over authenticity concerns involving a Michael Jordan-signed section of United Center court he won at auction. The TRO was granted and later extended, but it has since expired.

Paul originally won the 8-by-8-foot floor piece for $562,555.42. Payment was due on September 25. According to court records and Paul's attorneys, he wanted time to investigate the floor's authenticity before sending the money and was not allowed to do so.

Heritage advertised the piece as "the ultimate Michael Jordan display," a chunk of the 1994-98 United Center game-used court. Jordan signed it and inscribed his five NBA MVP awards, six NBA Finals MVPs, 10 scoring titles and his 2009 Hall of Fame induction year.

Paul's filing alleged the court's condition did not "match the court from 1995 to 1998," suggesting it had either been replaced or repainted and resurfaced. The injunction also pointed to PSA's certification, which noted the Bulls logo looked different than in photos from the 2001-05 seasons.

Neither Paul's camp nor Heritage has clarified why the case was dropped. Heritage declined to comment on the dispute, and when asked what happens to the Jordan floor now, the company said the information is confidential and protected by contract.
