Odell Beckham Jr. decided to explain why a $100 million contract is not quite the windfall people think it is. The internet had some thoughts, and none of them were subtle.

The veteran NFL receiver raised eyebrows after a clip resurfaced from his appearance on Ryan Clark's podcast. In it, Beckham tried to break down the financial reality of a five-year, $100 million deal.
He talked about taxes, expenses, family gifts and the cost of maintaining the lifestyle that comes with being a global star.
"You give somebody a five-year, $100 contract. What is it really," Beckham said. "It's five years for 60. Do the math. You have to spend, use, save, invest, flaunt. I'm going to buy a car. I'm going to give my mom a house. Everything costs money."
Beckham argued that the real number feels closer to $8 million per year once spending enters the picture. The reaction online centered on one word in particular. "Flaunt."
Fans pointed to his long list of luxury cars, high-end fashion and global travel. Others focused on the optics of any millionaire publicly lamenting his bank account.
"It's incredibly easy to make $100 million last a lifetime," one person wrote on X. Another commenter said the issue is not taxes or the contract structure. It is lifestyle.
Beckham has not responded to the criticism.
