Michigan's coaching search is beginning to take clearer shape.

The Wolverines have started vetting Louisville coach Jeff Brohm as a potential candidate for their head coaching vacancy, according to John Brice of Football Scoop.
Pete Nakos of On3 also described Brohm as a "name of interest" as Michigan continues to survey the market.
Brohm's emergence is not especially surprising. He has Big Ten experience from his time at Purdue, where he went 36-34, and has posted a 27-12 record since taking over at Louisville Cardinals.
His teams have been consistently competitive despite operating without the financial muscle of some of the sport's top programs.
Brohm was also connected to Penn State earlier in the coaching cycle but ultimately withdrew his name from consideration. At the time, he was expected to sign a contract extension with Louisville, though no deal has been finalized.
While the Michigan job carries obvious appeal, there are complicating factors. Brohm is a Louisville alumnus, which could make pulling him away difficult. Michigan is also coming off a turbulent period that has left the program in a less stable position than usual.
For now, Brohm remains one of several names on Michigan's radar as the search continues.
"Michigan leaders have urged players and parents to remain steadfast; they conducted a recent Zoom with the families of players to update the process and express a desire to 'have our next head coach by Christmas,' sources directly familiar with those talks told FootballScoop," Brice wrote.
