The longtime head coach said Monday that he expects to return for another season with the Kansas City Chiefs, making it clear he is planning on being back on the sideline in 2026.

"I think I'm coming back, right," Andy Reid said, via Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com. "If they'll have me back, I'll come back. You never know in this business, that's a tough one. But I plan on it, yeah."

Reid is finishing his 13th season as Kansas City's head coach, a run that included 10 straight playoff appearances and five Super Bowl trips over a six-year span. The Chiefs fell short of the postseason this year, but one down season presumably has not changed the organization's view of its coach.

That said, there could be roster turnover ahead. Tight end Travis Kelce and other veterans who played major roles in the team's sustained success face uncertain futures. Even so, Reid's return would provide stability as Kansas City looks to reset.

A healthy Patrick Mahomes and Reid back in charge would give the Chiefs reason to believe a return to contention is well within reach. There are some questions about all of that, of course.

But for now, the message from Reid is simple. He is not going anywhere.
