This marked the fourth Hyrox event for Newgarden since March 15, 2025. He also competed in events in Houston, Chicago, and Dallas. His best finish in his age group was Chicago when he finished 10th in the 30-34 age group.

Newgarden has provided a look at his Hyrox experience. He posted a video on his YouTube channel that showed the behind-the-scenes moments from his trip to Dallas.

This included his hydration prep, athlete registration, and his warmup. He also revealed that he wanted to use the alias of Jason Newberry. Newgarden also showed off his post-race recovery, which featured In-N-Out Burger.

As Newgarden explained, he needed to shave about 8 seconds from his best time in Chicago. He needed to do so by improving on the run portion of the event, which totals approximately five miles.
