The senior MLB insider has signed a new multi-year extension with ESPN that includes launching his own baseball podcast in partnership with Omaha Productions, the media company founded by Peyton Manning and executive Jamie Horowitz.
Translation? Passan is about to get a bigger microphone.
The 45-year-old will continue as one of ESPN's lead baseball voices, breaking news and delivering analysis across ESPN.com, "SportsCenter," and appearances on "The Pat McAfee Show." But now he'll also headline his own show — a notable step in ESPN's ongoing shift toward personality-driven, platform-flexible content.
Omaha Productions has already carved out a strong lane in sports media. Adding Passan gives them instant credibility in the baseball space.
"I came to ESPN seven years ago hoping to spend the rest of my career telling stories to the biggest and most passionate audience in sports," Passan said in the network's release.
ESPN timed the announcement just ahead of the 2026 MLB season, which opens March 25.

Passan joined ESPN in 2019 after 13 years at Yahoo Sports and has become one of the most recognizable insiders in the game — equal parts scoops and storytelling.
Now he gets his own platform.
And if you follow baseball, you already know what that means.
