Maxx Crosby trade buzz heating up fast in Las Vegas

Maxx Crosby might not be a Raider much longer. And this could move quickly.

According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, a trade involving Crosby could happen as soon as this week. After months of rumors, the smoke may finally turn into fire.

Breer says there is "needle-threading" involved. The Raiders do not want a public shopping spree. Crosby reportedly does not want it advertised either, given his bond with owner Mark Davis and how strongly he identifies as a Raider.

But business is business.

Crosby has made five straight Pro Bowls and has been the face of the NFL franchise since being drafted in 2019. Last season, though, was ugly. The Raiders went 3-14. Crosby was shut down late with a knee injury, underwent surgery in January, and even walked out of the facility after being ruled out for the final two games.

Now Las Vegas is entering a new era under Klint Kubiak. If this is a reset, does it make sense to move a 29-year-old star who desperately wants to win?

Teams like the Cowboys, Bears, Bills, Ravens, Rams, Patriots and Eagles are reportedly monitoring the situation. The Raiders are believed to want a monster return, possibly something close to what Dallas got for Micah Parsons.

If that offer is out there, this could happen fast. And if it does, the silver and black will look very different overnight.
