Former NASCAR Driver Dead at 42: Brother Confirms Death of Chase Pistone

Former NASCAR driver Chase Pistone has passed away at the age of 42, his brothers have confirmed.

According to Legends Nation, Nick and Tom Pistone confirmed the death of their brother. They did not provide a cause of death but requested that Legends Nation post the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

"Well My young brother and best friend is gone," Nick wrote in a Facebook post. "I'm broken hearted and don't know if I'll ever get over this. I miss you Chase already and I hope you are you are (sic) in a better place. I love you and I miss you so much already!!!!!!!"

A native of North Carolina, Pistone made limited starts in the Craftsman Truck Series and O'Reilly Auto Parts Series. The majority of his starts came with Turner Scott Motorsports and NTS Motorsports.

Pistone's best finish in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series was 14th at Iowa Speedway in 2014. His best finish in the Craftsman Truck Series was ninth at World Wide Technology Raceway. He also posted a top-10 finish at Iowa Speedway in the ARCA Menards Series.

NASCAR is not the only arena in which the former racer competed. The grandson of former Cup Series winner Tom Pistone also raced Legends and Late Models. His team, Chase Pistone Inc., regularly contended for Legends wins.

He also made 36 starts in the X-1R Pro Cup Series. According to The Third Turn, he posted 14 top-10 finishes. This includes a win at Concord Speedway in 2007.

"Heartbroken to hear about the passing of our friend Chase Pistone," RFK Racing's. Brian Murphy wrote on X. "He was not only a talented racer but a true mentor who poured his time, knowledge, and passion into the next generation."
