According to a police report that TMZ obtained, officers spotted the ex-Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle leaving a Kroger last week with what appeared to be several grocery items stuffed inside his sweatpants.

The officer said he noticed "large objects, square and rectangular shapes" bulging through Nkemdiche's pants that appeared consistent with concealed grocery items. Backup was called as the 6-foot-3, roughly 300-pound former NFL lineman walked toward a nearby gas station.

When officers approached him, Nkemdiche was immediately placed in handcuffs.

At that point, the items were no longer inside his pants. But after searching the surrounding parking lots, officers reportedly discovered frozen grocery products, candy bars and almond milk scattered nearby.

Police returned to Kroger to determine whether the items had been stolen. Store representatives declined to press charges but requested that Nkemdiche be formally banned from the location.

That was not the end of the situation. When officers ran Nkemdiche's name, they discovered multiple outstanding warrants across several states, including three in Georgia. Authorities requested that he be held, and officers took him to jail.

Nkemdiche, once a star at Ole Miss and the No. 29 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, has had previous legal issues. Most notably, he was arrested for drug possession in 2015 after falling from a fourth-floor hotel window.

The groceries involved in last week's incident were reportedly thrown out because they were perishable.
