Netflix has officially shelved Perfect after star Millie Bobby Brown exited the project, with reports pointing to creative differences behind the scenes, according to Deadline.

That decision ultimately changed everything.

Brown was set to portray Olympic gymnast Kerri Strug, one of the defining figures of the 1996 Summer Games. The film had been gearing up for production this summer. Now, it's been scrapped entirely.

The project had already seen changes before this latest development.

Director Gia Coppola stepped away earlier this year, with Cate Shortland stepping in to take over. The script, written by Ronnie Sandahl, was set to focus on Strug's unforgettable Olympic moment.

It's a moment sports fans still remember.

Strug, competing for the "Magnificent Seven," famously landed her vault on an injured ankle to help secure team gold for the United States. The image of her sticking the landing, only to collapse moments later and be carried off by her coach, remains one of the most iconic scenes in Olympic history.

Despite the setback, Netflix's relationship with Brown remains strong.

The actress is still attached to multiple upcoming projects, including Enola Holmes 3, along with other films in development. The two sides are also coming off the massive success of Stranger Things, which wrapped its run late last year.

But as for the story of this Olympian, it appears Netflix has give it the ol' heave-ho.
