Kenan Thompson Brings Back His Charles Barkley Impression on 'SNL'

Saturday Night Live has proven yet again that Kenan Thompson is made for sports-related sketches. This time, he has done so with the return of his Charles Barkley impression.

The longtime cast member donned the suit once again for a sketch focused on March Madness. He joined SNL's version of the NCAA post-game show, which also included Ernie Johnson (James Austin Johnson), Kenny Smith (Kam Patterson), and Coach Bruce Pearl (Jeremy Culhane).

The members of this group then discussed the biggest storylines of the NCAA Tournament, such as a battle between UConn and Illinois. Although they took a side journey to discuss Barkley's comments about immigration and the ongoing war between the United States/Israel and Iran.

"Now, this might get me fired, so I'm going to choose my words real careful right now," Thompson's version of Barkley said.

"Look, there's a war going on between us and Iran, and war is turrible (terrible). Innocent people getting killed tonight — I don't care who started it — but we need to end it."

The conversation briefly shifted back to another game in the NCAA Tournament, but Barkley then went off on another track.

This time, he discussed the Artemis II mission that sent four astronauts around the moon, something that Barkley compared to parents taking their kid to a parking lot at Disney World and then immediately heading home.

Thompson also channeled Barkley while discussing betting apps, Pam Bondi's firing, and Kristi Noem's husband.

This March Madness sketch is far from the only time that Thompson has done an impression of a prominent sports figure. Past sketches have featured him donning golf casual gear so that he could act like Tiger Woods.

He also dressed up like David Ortiz for a "Big Dominican Lunch" cooking show and the late OJ Simpson for an "at-home" episode of SNL back in 2020.
