The Dallas Wings introduced No. 1 overall pick Azzi Fudd this week, but when it came to questions about her personal life, the conversation ended quickly.

Some things, the team just isn't getting into. Specifically, anything involving Paige Bueckers.
When a reporter asked about the status of their relationship and how the two might navigate playing together, a team PR official stepped in and shut it down.
A respectful decline. Nothing more. That part was clear.
What's less clear is where things actually stand between the two.

Bueckers, the 2025 Rookie of the Year and Fudd's former UConn teammate, had previously confirmed their relationship during WNBA All-Star weekend. Fudd even leaned into it publicly at one point, posting a phone case that read "Paige Bueckers' girlfriend."
So yeah, this isn't coming out of nowhere. Now they're teammates again in Dallas, which naturally brings more attention.
Fudd, for her part, kept it focused on basketball.
"I'm so excited to play again with Paige," she said after being drafted. "She's an incredible person, an incredible player."
That's the lane she stayed in. And it looks like the organization plans to do the same.
Still, the dynamic is hard to ignore. Two high-profile players. Shared history. Same team.
People are going to ask. They just might not get many answers.
