"I love racing and competing at everything, and NASCAR is one of the biggest and most competitive stages on earth," said Pastrana in a press release.
"Having the opportunity to hop in the No. 25 Ram truck with Kaulig Racing through the Free Agent Program is an amazing opportunity. These Ram 1500s are so much fun to drive. We're going to go out there, put on a show for the fans and see what we can do."
This No. 25 has already featured Hall of Famer Tony Stewart (Daytona), Ty Dillon (Atlanta, Rockingham), IMSA champ Colin Braun (St. Petersburg), Corey LaJoie (Darlington), and dirt star Carson Ferguson (Bristol).
The entry will feature AJ Allmendinger at Watkins Glen International, Clint Bowyer at Dover Motor Speedway, and Jamie McMurray at Naval Base Coronado.
This partnership between Pastrana and Kaulig Racing actually marks a bit of a reunion. While the longtime action sports star is currently a member of the Subaru racing family, he has previously been associated with Ram's parent company Stellantis.
Back in 2012, Pastrana drove a Rally-spec Dodge Dart SRT. This vehicle, which Dodge based on the normal Dart passenger car, featured four-wheel drive, a sequential shifter, and a zero to 60 mph time of 1.9 seconds. This came from an engine producing 600 horsepower and 550 lb.-ft. of torque.
Now, he will return to Stellantis for this one-off start at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He will make his eighth career Truck Series start, and his first at NASCAR's home track. His previous Truck Starts were at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (2012, 2015, 2017, 2020), Kansas Speedway (2020), and Daytona International Speedway (2023, 2026).
