The long-awaited bout between MMA trailblazers Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano left some people stunned. This battle did not go all five rounds, nor did it even last one full round.

This fight between Rousey and Carano lasted fewer than 20 seconds as Rousey showed that she is still an armbar specialist.
The bout began with the two retired fighters facing off. Rousey than rushed in and took Carano to the mat. Carano tried to secured a guillotine choke hold, but Rousey slipped out and began throwing punches with her right hand.

The former fighter-turned-WWE star then rolled over onto her back with Carano's right arm locked up in an arm bar. Carano immediately tapped out.
The two fighters stood up as the announcer yelled, "Mama Mia!" They embraced after finally facing off inside the cage for the first time.
"Feel bad for the people that went to the bathroom at the start of this one," one person joked. Others said that this fight served as "an ego stroke" for Rousey. However, one person countered by saying that most of her fights ended in this manner.
While some social media users expressed frustration about the fight lasting fewer than 20 seconds, this is not a big surprise in the world of mixed martial arts. Numerous bouts over the decades have ended far earlier than expected.
The shortest fight in UFC history, for example, lasted six seconds. Duane "Bang" Ludwig faced off with Jonathan Goulet in UFC Fight Night 3.
Once the opening bell rang, Ludwig rushed forward and hit Goulet in the chin with his right fist. Goulet immediately crumpled to the mat as the fight ended.
According to Dana White's stopwatch, this battle lasted 11 seconds. However, Fox Sports noted that the time was actually six seconds.
Other extremely short fights have featured Chan Sung Jung knocking out Mark Hominick and Oleg Taktarov choking out Anthony Macias. One short fight featured B.J. Penn securing a TKO over veteran Caol Uno in what was only Penn's third fight.
