The New York Yankees are dealing with another injury as the team heads towards June. Trent Grisham, a two-time Gold Glove winner who hit 34 homers in 2025, had to exit Wednesday night's game against the Toronto Blue Jays due to knee discomfort.

The veteran player appeared to have an issue after hitting a double. He hesitated initially as the ball seemed like an easy out for Toronto. However, it dropped into play, and Grisham had to turn and actively run it out
He picked up speed after rounding first and then he slid safely into second base. However, once he stood up, he began rubbing the inside of his left knee. He then walked gingerly back onto the field after the end of the inning before later exiting.

"Trent Grisham left tonight's game with left knee discomfort," the team said in a statement. "He was seen here at the Stadium by Yankees team physicians. He will undergo imaging tomorrow."
Grisham spoke with media members after the 2-1 loss to the Blue Jays. He noted that he didn't really know what happened and then he provided the information that he could.
"Just felt weird in my knee for a little bit," he said. "It didn't feel like something I should mess with."
When pressed for more information, he just said he felt discomfort and that he thought it would get better as he stayed in the game. This didn't happen, so he exited a couple of innings later. Spencer Jones replaced him in centerfield as the game progressed.
However, Grisham said that he remained optimistic that this isn't a serious injury. Manager Aaron Boone, for comparison, said that he doesn't want to speculate. He just said that Grisham coming out of the game "raises your eyebrows."
The left-handed hitter/centerfielder has appeared in 49 games this season for the New York Yankees. He has registered 27 hits with six home runs and 27 RBIs. He has scored 27 times and stolen three bases.
