According to multiple reports, the Browns are finalizing a blockbuster trade that will send star pass rusher Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for former first-round pick Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round draft pick and additional draft compensation.

The deal is expected to become one of the biggest defensive trades in NFL history.

Garrett, a two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year and seven-time Pro Bowler, has spent his entire career with Cleveland after being selected No. 1 overall in the 2017 draft. During that span, he established himself as one of the most dominant defensive players the league has ever seen.

The surprising move comes after the Browns spent much of the offseason insisting they had no interest in trading Garrett. Reports indicate the Rams simply would not stop calling, continuing their pursuit even after Cleveland repeatedly rejected offers.

Eventually, the conversation centered around Verse, the Rams' talented young pass rusher who was originally viewed as untouchable. Once Los Angeles became willing to discuss including him in a package, negotiations intensified.

For the Rams, the move is the latest example of an organization that rarely shies away from taking big swings.

Just as they did when they acquired quarterback Matthew Stafford before their Super Bowl championship run, Los Angeles is once again pushing its chips to the middle of the table. Garrett joins a defense that already featured several emerging stars and gives the Rams another elite playmaker as they pursue a championship with Super Bowl LXI scheduled to be played at SoFi Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Browns receive a younger cornerstone defender in Verse, significant draft capital and additional financial flexibility moving forward. Cleveland is also expected to have multiple first-round picks in the coming years as it continues reshaping its roster.

Garrett leaves Cleveland as the franchise's most feared defensive player of his generation and arguably one of the best defenders the NFL has seen in the modern era.

Now, one of the league's biggest stars is headed to Hollywood.
