The Eagles opened up a roster spot by sending the team's leading receiver to the AFC East in exchange for a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick. They filled the roster spot by signing Samori Toure, a former member both the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints.

Toure, a seventh-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, has appeared in 23 games over four seasons. He played in 11 games in both 2022 and 2023 while suiting up for the Packers. He caught 13 passes for 160 yards and a touchdown.

Toure didn't see the field during the regular season in 2024, but he returned in 2025 as a member of the Saints. He caught one pass for three yards.

The former Packers and Saints receiver will now try to find a spot in what has become a crowded roster. The Eagles have 12 receivers after deciding to trade Brown and sign Toure. This includes speedy veterans Marquise Brown and DeVonta Smith.

The receiver room also has rookie draft pick Makai Lemon, a player the Eagles selected with a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

The other receivers on the roster include Darius Cooper, Britain Covey, Danny Gray, Brandon Hayes, Elijah Moore, Quez Watkins, Johnny Wilson, and Dontayvion Wicks.

Some of these receivers will enter the season with designated spots on the roster. Smith, in particular, will become expected to take on an even larger role on the offense after Brown's departure. Lemon will also become a top receiving option for quarterback Jalen Hurts as a first-rounder.

Other receivers will try to secure a spot as either the No. 3 receiver or as a depth player who can step in throughout the regular season. Some will find a spot on special teams while covering punts and kickoffs.
