Shortly after news broke that the Eagles had traded Brown to the New England Patriots, the star receiver addressed lingering questions about his relationship with Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Speaking with NBC's Maria Taylor, Brown acknowledged that he and Hurts were not as close by the end of their time together as they once had been.

At the same time, he pushed back on the idea that there was any real drama behind it.

"Nothing happened," Brown said. "People just grow apart."

According to Brown, there was no falling out between the two players, no issues involving family members and no single moment that changed their relationship.

Instead, he described it as something that can happen naturally over time.

"Life happens," Brown explained. "You just look up sometimes and find yourself drifting away."

The comments come after months of speculation surrounding Brown and Hurts. Throughout the 2025 season, questions about Brown's frustration with Philadelphia's offense often led to discussions about his connection with the Eagles quarterback.

Brown insisted those personal dynamics never affected what the team was trying to accomplish on the field.

"That didn't stop anything," he said.

While he's now headed to New England following Monday's blockbuster trade, he made it clear there are no hard feelings toward his former teammate.

In fact, Brown said he still hopes Hurts enjoys plenty of success moving forward and accomplishes everything he wants in his career.

The two may no longer be teammates, but Brown's message was simple.

There was no feud. Just two people whose lives gradually moved in different directions.
