In a message shared to her Instagram Story over the weekend, Biles revealed that she "almost died" during an undisclosed incident that left her bedridden for much of the past week.

The 11-time Olympic medalist did not provide details about what happened, but suggested she plans to share more when she's ready.

"I'm not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today's age," Biles wrote. "But almost dying wasn't on my bingo card this week."

Biles described the ordeal as "one of, if not the scariest experience of my life," adding that her husband, Indianapolis Colts safety Jonathan Owens, was away in Indianapolis for team practices when it occurred.

"I've been in bed resting this week," she continued. "I'll explain sooner or later, but shoutout to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers."

The cryptic post quickly sparked concern among fans, as Biles offered no additional information about the nature of the medical scare.

Biles, 29, remains one of the most decorated gymnasts in history. She added to her remarkable legacy at the 2024 Paris Olympics, winning three gold medals and a silver while once again cementing her status as one of the greatest athletes of her generation.

She and Owens married in 2023 and have frequently shared glimpses of their life together on social media, though both have largely kept personal health matters private.

The latest update marks a rare exception.

For now, Biles appears focused on recovery, thanking friends and family members who supported her throughout what she described as a frightening week.

While the gymnastics superstar has yet to reveal exactly what happened, her message made one thing clear: whatever the incident was, it left a lasting impression.
