Not everyone, however, was ready to welcome her into the Knicks family.

AS relayed by Awful Announcing's Brendon Kleen, Knicks radio analyst and ESPN personality Monica McNutt had a humorous reaction after spotting Swift courtside at Madison Square Garden during New York's matchup with the Spurs.

"She's not a Knicks fan! Get out of here, girl," McNutt joked during the radio broadcast after noticing Swift in attendance.

Swift was seated courtside alongside members of the band Haim and actress Mariska Hargitay as Madison Square Garden filled with celebrities for one of the biggest games in recent Knicks history.

The pop superstar appeared to enjoy herself throughout the evening, frequently cheering as New York erased a massive deficit and completed the largest comeback in NBA Finals history.

Elsewhere in the arena, TNT's Ernie Johnson was among those who stopped for a photo with Swift, whose appearances at major sporting events often become talking points of their own.

Of course, McNutt's comment appeared to be all in good fun.

Knicks fans have waited decades to see their team return to championship contention, and many are fiercely protective of their fan base. Swift, meanwhile, grew up in Pennsylvania and is more commonly associated with the Kansas City Chiefs because of her relationship with star tight end Travis Kelce.

Still, if the Knicks finish off the Spurs and capture their first NBA title since 1973, New York may have room for a few more celebrity fans.

Even if Monica McNutt isn't quite ready to hand out membership cards just yet.
