According to a press release, the iconic band is collaborating with NASCAR in multiple ways while preparing for the July 10 release of its newest album, Foreign Tongues. This deal includes a special activation where fans can listen to the new album before it becomes publicly available.
This fan experience will center around a "custom NASCAR listening lounge show car." Fans can sit in this car and listen to Foreign Tongues while enjoying a truly unique experience. This activation will appear throughout Chicago ahead of the July 4-5 race weekend.
The sites include including the Navy Pier, Plaza of the Americas, and the Chicagoland Speedway Fan Zone.
The collaboration also includes custom merchandise, such as a co-branded racing jacket and other limited-edition apparel. Additionally, The Rolling Stones will release two NASCAR-themed collector vinyl editions of Foreign Tongues.
The most intriguing part of this collaboration will be a hero film featuring four young drivers. Carson Hocevar, Jesse Love, and Connor Zilisch, will become a "touring rock band" to show similarities with life on the road. The music from Foreign Tongues will serve as the soundtrack of the film.
Cleetus McFarland joins in on the film as a radio DJ-turned-tour bus driver.
"For generations, NASCAR and The Rolling Stones have captivated fans through unforgettable live experiences and a shared spirit of performance," said Megan Malayter, NASCAR Vice President of Licensing and Consumer Products.
"While one takes place on the racetrack and the other on the stage, both are fueled by passion, energy and life on the road. This collaboration brings those worlds together in a unique way, giving fans exclusive content, limited-edition collectible vinyls, and immersive experiences that celebrate the connection between racing and rock."
Foreign Tongues is the first album for Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood since 2023's Grammy award-winning Hackney Diamonds. It is the first full album recorded since drummer Charlie Watts passed away in 2021. Watts appeared posthumously on two tracks of Hackney Diamonds.
Foreign Tongues will have one special appearance from Watts using audio from one of his final recording sessions. The album will also include guests in Steve Winwood, Paul McCartney, the Cure's Robert Smith, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith.
All of the collaboration merchandise will be available in two locations. Fans can purchase it on the band's merchandise store or NASCARshop.com.
The partnership with NASCAR is part of a broader campaign for the band that formed in 1962. The Rolling Stones will also release special editions of Foreign Tongues featuring collaborations with both the FIFA World Cup and Marvel Comics.
The Marvel editions of the album come with art for Thor, Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk, Captain America, and Wolverine. They also include comic books.
