For generations of sports fans, Linda Cohn was one of the most familiar faces on television. Now, after more than three decades at ESPN, the legendary "SportsCenter" anchor is calling it a career.

Cohn announced that she will retire from ESPN after 34 years with the network. Her final day is scheduled for June 30, bringing an end to one of the most accomplished broadcasting careers in sports media history.
The longtime anchor hosted more than 5,500 editions of "SportsCenter," the most in the program's history.
Cohn joined ESPN in 1992 and quickly became one of the network's signature personalities. Over the years, she helped shape "SportsCenter" into one of the most recognizable shows in sports television while also serving as a play-by-play announcer for WNBA broadcasts and contributing to ESPN's NHL coverage.
A former college hockey goaltender, Cohn remained closely connected to the sport throughout her broadcasting career and became a regular presence on the network's hockey programming.
She was inducted into the National Sports Media Association Hall of Fame in 2017.
Reflecting on her career, Cohn said she takes particular pride in helping inspire future generations of women in sports media.
"What I'm most proud of is that my career lasted long enough for me to see little girls grow up watching SportsCenter, enter this business and succeed in it," Cohn said in a statement.
ESPN president Burke Magnus praised Cohn's impact on the network and the industry.
"Linda Cohn is a legend and a major part of the history of ESPN," Magnus said. "She has brought enthusiasm, personality and her love of sports to our audience for more than 30 years."
ESPN plans to honor Cohn during her final weeks with appearances on "SportsCenter" and coverage surrounding the NHL Draft.
Her retirement closes a remarkable chapter in sports broadcasting and marks the end of an era for ESPN viewers.
