Meyer Shank Racing w/Curb Agajanian announced the news on Wednesday with a statement. The team expressed disappointment in the upcoming change, which will surely have a ripple effect through the racing series.
"It's unfortunate that Felix has decided to move on from MSR at the end of the season, particularly given everything we've accomplished together, including this year's Indy 500 victory," team co-owner Michael Shank said in a statement.
"Over the past several years, Felix has played an important role in helping build this program into what it is today, and we're grateful for his contributions both on and off the track.
"There are still eight races left on the schedule, and everyone at MSR remains fully committed to achieving the strongest results possible in the championship and delivering for our partners."
The Swede is currently in his eighth season in the NTT IndyCar Series. He has been a part of the Meyer Shank Racing stable since the 2024 season, and he has delivered a career year in his second season with the team. He is sixth in the standings after posting four top-10 finishes and the Indianapolis 500 win.
Prior to making the change to MSR, Rosenqvist spent three seasons with Arrow McLaren Racing (2021-23). He posted three podium finishes with the team while driving the Nos. 6 and 7.
Rosenqvist's time in the NTT IndyCar Series began with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2019. He spent two seasons with the championship-winning team, and he won at Road America in 2020.
The veteran driver will now close out the 2026 season with eight more events, and he will prepare for another change in his career. The team will also prepare as it seeks the next driver for the No. 60.
"While we wish Felix nothing but success in the next chapter of his career, our focus at MSR is on the future and ensuring we have the right driver in place for the 2027 season," Shank added.
"As a team, we've made tremendous progress over the last few years, and maintaining that momentum is a top priority. We're actively evaluating our options and hope to have an announcement to make in the coming months, so stay tuned."
