According to TMZ, prosecutors declined to file charges after reviewing an incident involving Sapp at a senior living facility in Apopka, Florida.

Police records obtained by TMZ show officers responded to the facility on May 25 after an employee alleged Sapp became upset while seeking information related to a family member's insurance claims.

The employee told police Sapp became increasingly agitated during the interaction and alleged he grabbed for her phone, making contact with her wrist.

According to the police report, Sapp left the facility before officers arrived.

Investigators reviewed surveillance video, but TMZ reported the alleged contact could not be seen because of the camera angle. Police also attempted to speak with Sapp during the investigation but were unable to reach him.

Although officers determined there was probable cause to support a battery charge, prosecutors ultimately declined to move forward with the case on June 12, according to TMZ.

Sapp, 53, played 13 NFL seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders, earning seven Pro Bowl selections and four first-team All-Pro honors. He helped the Buccaneers win Super Bowl XXXVII and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013.

The Orange-Osceola State Attorney's Office has not announced any criminal charges related to the incident.
