The NFL has indefinitely suspended Arizona Cardinals executive Ryan Gold for violations of the league's gambling policy.

AP senior NFL writer Rob Maaddi first broke the news on Friday afternoon, and he provided some key details. The NFL then confirmed the suspension with a statement.
According to Maaddi, an NFL investigation determined that Gold had provided "confidential, non-public information" about the Cardinals' 2026 Draft picks before their announcement. He also allegedly participated in parlay bets on NFL and college games.

"The NFL confirmed today that Ryan Gold, Director of College Scouting for the Arizona Cardinals, has been suspended indefinitely for violating the NFL's Gambling Policy," the league said in a statement. "This suspension is effective immediately.
"The Gambling Policy, which is annually reviewed with all NFL personnel, strictly prohibits anyone in the NFL from participating in or facilitating any form of sports gambling, and from providing third parties non-public information.
"The League's investigation determined that Gold provided confidential, non-public inside information regarding 2026 Draft selections by the Cardinals before they were announced, and that Mr. Gold participated in parlay bets on NFL and college games.
"Although there is no reason to believe the integrity of any NFL game was affected, the League takes any violation of the Gambling Policy with the utmost seriousness."
The NFL also stated that Gold has the right to appeal this suspension.
Gold's role prior to the suspension included overseeing the day-to-day operation and organization of the team's college scouting department. He was responsible for evaluating draft-eligible college prospects, as well as managing the college scouting staff.
Gold was in his 13th season with the Cardinals. He previously served as the assistant director of college scouting (2022-24) and as the college scouting coordinator (2018-21).
The Cardinals released a statement about the penalty. The team said that it accepts the league's decision and will move forward while focusing on the upcoming start of training camp.
"The NFL's policies and expectations for all employees are clear, comprehensive, and consistently communicated," the team said. "We fully support the league's decision in this matter, which involves a single employee."
