Former Minnesota Vikings star Everson Griffen is facing another legal issue involving his driving.

Griffen, a four-time Pro Bowl defensive end, was arrested in Winona, Minnesota, and charged with a misdemeanor for allegedly driving a vehicle without a required ignition interlock device, according to KSTP.
Police reportedly pulled Griffen over around 8:12 p.m. after he was allegedly clocked driving 62 mph in a 40 mph zone.
After reviewing Griffen's driving record, officers determined that his license required him to operate only vehicles equipped with an ignition interlock device, according to court records.
The device requires a driver to provide a breath sample before allowing the vehicle to start.
Griffen was taken into custody and is awaiting further court proceedings.
The 38-year-old has faced several driving-related incidents in recent years. He was arrested on suspicion of DWI in 2023 before later pleading guilty to reckless driving. The DWI charge was dismissed as part of that case.
In November 2025, Griffen was also cited after allegedly driving 130 mph in a 60 mph zone.
Griffen spent the majority of his NFL career with Minnesota after the Vikings selected him in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft.
He recorded 74.5 sacks during his time with the franchise, earning four Pro Bowl selections. Griffen also had brief stints with the Cowboys and Lions before finishing his playing career with Minnesota in 2021.
