The Los Angeles Chargers quarterback announced Tuesday that he is engaged to singer and songwriter Madison Beer.
The couple shared the news in a joint Instagram post featuring photos of the proposal, keeping the caption simple: "Meet my fiancé." It marks another milestone in a relationship that first caught fans' attention last year.
Herbert and Beer were first linked in 2025 after being spotted together on the set of her "lovergirl" music video. They later fueled dating speculation with appearances together at Chargers games, Los Angeles Lakers contests and a Dodgers World Series game before eventually making their relationship public.
Herbert even appeared in Beer's "lovergirl" music video, released earlier this year as part of her locket deluxe album.
Their relationship also drew headlines during the offseason when Herbert missed part of the Chargers' voluntary workout program to support Beer while she was on tour.
Head coach Jim Harbaugh had no issue with it.
When asked about Herbert's absence at the time, Harbaugh joked, "Do you need a ride to the airport?" before saying he was happy his franchise quarterback was supporting his girlfriend. Now she's his fiancée.
The couple's announcement quickly took off on social media, drawing hundreds of thousands of likes within the first hour as congratulations poured in from fans, fellow athletes and even the NFL's official Instagram account.
