French DJ and electronic music producer Kavinsky, whose song "Nightcall" gained worldwide recognition and who performed during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, has died. He was 50.

The artist, whose real name was Vincent Belorgey, was found dead Tuesday evening at his home in Paris, according to the Paris prosecutor's office, via Bloomberg.
Prosecutors said an investigation has been opened to determine the cause of death. Officials said first responders found no signs of suspicious circumstances at the scene.
Kavinsky rose to international prominence with "Nightcall," which was featured in the 2011 film Drive starring Ryan Gosling.
He returned to the global spotlight in 2024 when he performed the song during the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games alongside French singer Angèle and the band Phoenix.
French media reported that a neighbor contacted emergency services after becoming concerned about Belorgey. Authorities have not announced a cause of death.
Known as one of the leading figures of France's electronic music scene, Kavinsky built an international following with his retro-inspired sound and cinematic style.
He was 50.
