Former WWE NIL athlete and college wrestling standout AJ Ferrari has been arrested in Nebraska on charges involving the alleged assault of a pregnant woman.

Ferrari, 24, was taken into custody July 7 on an outstanding warrant and arraigned the following day, according to authorities, via Cageside Seats.
He faces charges of third-degree assault by strangulation or suffocation of a pregnant woman, third-degree domestic violence assault and first-degree false imprisonment.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said investigators conducting surveillance at a residence where Ferrari was believed to be staying saw a woman leave the home and enter a truck. Authorities said a man later identified as Ferrari crawled out of the garage and entered the vehicle's rear passenger seat.
Investigators followed the truck before patrol deputies stopped it and arrested Ferrari without incident.
His bond was set at $200,000. His next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 13.
Ferrari was once considered one of college wrestling's top prospects and joined WWE's Next In Line program in 2021. The NIL initiative was designed to identify college athletes who could potentially transition to professional wrestling, though Ferrari never officially wrestled for WWE.
Ferrari's college career included stops at Oklahoma State, Cal State Bakersfield and Nebraska.
He previously faced a felony sexual battery charge in 2022, but the case was dismissed the following year after the alleged victim chose not to proceed.
Ferrari also has faced other legal issues, including arrests earlier this year. A Texas case involving an outstanding warrant for allegedly evading arrest was later dismissed.
In June, Ferrari was arrested after authorities accused him of driving a Corvette 110 mph in a 55-mph zone and fleeing from police.
