Changes are taking place within Cadillac Formula 1 team. The newest addition to the F1 grid is bringing in a new Team Principal.

According to the team, Marcin Budkowski will take over as Team Principal for the rest of the 2026 season. He will replace Graeme Lowdon, who had led the team since its first took the grid this season.
The reason for this change varies based on the source. A report indicated that the team had fired Lowdon. However, Cadillac F1 Team said in a press release that this is a planned leadership transition as the organization evolves.
CEO Dan Towriss then told media members on a call that this is not a mutual decision between Cadillac and Lowdon.

Budkowski has extensive experience in the global racing series, which spans both engineering and leadership roles. He has worked for Prost, Ferrari, McLaren, the FIA, and Renault/Alpine.
He has not been involved in a team since leaving his role as executive director at Alpine in 2022, but he has remained in the sport. He has worked as a television pundit, and he has also served as an advisor to drivers, teams, and organizations.
Now, Budkowski will take on a larger role as he helps Cadillac's team close out its inaugural season. He will then help guide the operation as it prepares for the 2027 season.

"As we enter this new era for the Cadillac Formula 1 Team, Marcin brings exceptional F1 experience, technical expertise and strategic leadership that will strengthen our organisation and help us develop the winning mindset, tools and processes required for long-term success.
