Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has wrestled, acted and even sung in a Disney movie. Now he's apparently coming for the country charts.

Johnson has released a new country-flavored ballad titled "Your Dad," a song inspired by his three daughters and featured on the new "Moana: Voices Across the Ocean" album.

The former WWE superstar co-wrote the song with 2023 "American Idol" winner Iam Tongi, and the accompanying video features home footage of Johnson with daughters Simone, Jasmine and Tiana.

Johnson told Rolling Stone that music has always been part of his life, even if he doesn't exactly consider himself George Strait behind the microphone.

"I always like to say I sing from the heart, and I sing in keys that don't exist," Johnson joked.

Tongi originally wrote a version called "My Dad," inspired by his late father and the children he hopes to have someday.

The song hit Johnson hard, but his own complicated relationship with his late father, professional wrestler Rocky Johnson, made him hesitant to record it that way. So Johnson and Tongi reworked the song around something much closer to The Rock's heart: his daughters.

Johnson's musical interests aren't exactly new.

He sang "You're Welcome" in the original animated "Moana," appeared on Wyclef Jean's "It Doesn't Matter" and contributed to Tech N9ne's "Face Off."

He also grew up listening to everyone from Sam Cooke and Elvis Presley to George Jones and Willie Nelson. Nelson even gave Johnson one of 100 replicas of his famous "Trigger" guitar.

Johnson told Rolling Stone he's now exploring music with an old-school soul and traditional country sound.

So yes, The Rock may actually be entering his country era.

At this point, would anybody really be surprised?
