Brazilian gymnastics star Rebeca Andrade came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community while sharing a photo of her girlfriend on Instagram.
Andrade, 27, posted a picture to her Instagram Stories showing her girlfriend kissing her on the cheek.
"Thank you for supporting me and being here at this important moment in my life!" Andrade wrote in Portuguese, according to PinkNews. "I love you."
The post quickly caught the attention of gymnastics fans, who celebrated Andrade publicly sharing the relationship.
It's another chapter in an already remarkable story for the Brazilian star.
Andrade has won six Olympic medals, making her the most decorated Brazilian Olympian in history. She captured gold in the vault at the Tokyo Olympics and added another gold medal in the floor exercise at the 2024 Paris Games.
She also owns nine World Championship medals and won the world all-around title in 2022, along with world championships in the vault in 2021 and 2023.
Andrade's career has made her one of the biggest names in international gymnastics and one of Brazil's most accomplished athletes in any sport.
She now joins fellow Olympic medalist Jade Carey among prominent women's gymnasts who have publicly shared same-sex relationships while still competing.
Andrade didn't make a lengthy announcement or attach a label to herself. She simply shared the person she loves with the world.
