Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs has a new court date as he remains on the commissioner's exempt list.

Jacobs currently faces misdemeanor charges of battery and criminal damage to property stemming from an alleged incident on May 23. He had previously been scheduled to appear in court during the Green Bay Packers' bye week in November. Now, however, the appearance has been moved to Sept. 10.
Jacobs is unlikely to appear at the hearing in Wisconsin. The law allows his attorney to appear if the charges are misdemeanors. Fox 11 News reports that Jacobs and his attorney have filed the required authorization earlier this week.
According to a police department release, officers responded to a disturbance complaint on May 23 at approximately 8:37 a.m. The incident report said that Jacobs' girlfriend went through his phone and became upset after seeing him talking to other females. She then reportedly threw his phone.
The girlfriend, referred to as ANM, then allegedly tried to retrieve her phone from Jacobs. However, the report says that he "grabbed her arm and began a physical struggle, which lasted several minutes."
The incident report said that Jacobs left the home with ANM's phone in his possession. She then followed in his other vehicle. They ultimately returned to the home after ANM tried to block Jacobs in a driveway.
ANM allegedly tried to use her second phone to call the police, but she had no service in the home. She then went outside when "Jacobs grabbed her and threw her to the ground and she struck her head, suffering an injury. Jacobs then took her phone from her while she was on the ground. ANM laid on the ground for a while and then struggled to walk back into the house."
The officers originally arrested Jacobs and charged him with battery, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct, all involving domestic abuse; strangulation and suffocation; and intimidation of a victim.
The report said that surveillance footage from within the garage corroborated portions of ANM's testimony, notably, the altercation in the garage.
The Brown County District Attorney reviewed the evidence and elected to file misdemeanor charges against the Green Bay Packers running back. The NFL also began reviewing the situation to determine if it warranted a suspension.
For now, Jacobs remains on the commissioner's exempt list, meaning that he can not practice or play. He does not count against the 53-man roster, and this does not count as a suspension.
The 24th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Jacobs spent the first five seasons of his career with the Raiders. He joined the Packers ahead of the 2024 season and has remained in Wisconsin ever since.
Jacobs has rushed for 7,803 yards and 74 touchdowns in his career. He led the NFL with 1,653 yards during the 2022 season.
