Jalen Brunson's championship summer isn't quite over yet. The New York Knicks star and reigning NBA Finals MVP will host the Season 52 premiere of "Saturday Night Live" on Sept. 26, the show announced Wednesday.

Pop group KATSEYE will serve as the musical guest.
For Brunson, it's another pretty significant New York moment after leading the Knicks to their first NBA championship in 53 years. Now he gets Studio 8H.
Brunson will also join a remarkably short list of NBA players who have hosted "SNL." Bill Russell, Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley and LeBron James are among those who have previously gotten the call.
In fact, Brunson will become the first active NBA player to host since James in 2007. He'll also be the first active professional athlete to do it since Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce in 2023.
Brunson certainly isn't a total stranger to performing away from the basketball court. He's made multiple appearances with WWE and co-hosts the "Roommates Show" podcast alongside Knicks teammate Josh Hart.

So, yeah, don't be shocked if Hart somehow finds his way into a sketch. Karl-Anthony Towns might want to keep his phone nearby, too.
The appearance will cap quite a summer for Brunson, who led the Knicks to the title before undergoing surgery on his left wrist in July. He's expected to be ready for training camp.
Knicks media day is scheduled for Sept. 28, just two days after Brunson hosts "SNL."
Something tells us the New York media will have watched.
