Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs has resolved the criminal charges stemming from a May altercation with his girlfriend.

Jacobs pleaded no contest Thursday to misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property in Brown County Circuit Court.
He was fined $1,000 plus court costs on the battery charge. Under an agreement with prosecutors, proceedings on the criminal damage charge will be suspended for 12 months and the charge will be dismissed if Jacobs completes the terms of the agreement, according to his attorneys.
"With this agreement, Josh has accepted responsibility for his conduct and resolved this matter," attorneys David Z. Chesnoff, Richard A. Schonfeld and Clarence F. Duhac III said in a statement.
Jacobs was arrested May 26, three days after police responded to his home to investigate a disturbance. Police said Jacobs' girlfriend told officers she had suffered a lump on her head as a result of his actions.
He was ultimately charged with two misdemeanors in August.
While Jacobs' court case has now been resolved, his NFL status hasn't changed.
The league placed the three-time Pro Bowl running back on the Commissioner's Exempt List following the charges, preventing him from playing or practicing while continuing to receive his salary.
"There is no change to his status as he remains on the Commissioner's Exempt list," an NFL spokesperson said Thursday, adding that the matter remains under review under the league's personal conduct policy.
So Jacobs has cleared one significant hurdle. Now the Packers have to wait and see when, or if, the NFL allows him back onto the field.
