Former Middle Tennessee State soccer player Savannah Stair died following a single-vehicle crash in Nashville on Friday night. She was 28.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Stair was driving a Toyota 4Runner along Great Circle Road shortly before 11 p.m. when the vehicle left the roadway while navigating a curve.
The SUV struck a curb and overturned. Stair was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she died.
Police said there were no indications of impairment at the scene. Authorities have not yet determined what caused Stair's vehicle to leave the road.
Stair played four seasons as a defender for Middle Tennessee from 2016 through 2019. After making 12 appearances as a freshman, an injury limited her to four games during her sophomore season.
She returned to become a fixture in the Blue Raiders' starting lineup as a junior, starting every game and logging 1,608 minutes. Stair helped the Middle Tennessee defense record six shutout victories that season, including three consecutive clean sheets.
