According to court documents obtained by CBS News Pittsburgh, the 26-year-old allegedly took the vehicle from the valet garage at Allegheny Health Network's Wexford Hospital.
An employee of the truck's rental company told police he was loading tables and chairs from an event when the vehicle was taken.
Investigators tracked the truck using its GPS system. Cranberry Township police later stopped the vehicle and identified Jurkovec as the driver, authorities said.
Jurkovec was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. Both charges are felonies.
Online court records showed that his bail was set at $25,000. Jurkovec was being held in the Allegheny County Jail after failing to post bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing later this month.
Jurkovec was once considered one of the nation's top quarterback prospects. The Pennsylvania native signed with Notre Dame in 2018 before transferring to Boston College.
His best college season came with the Eagles in 2020, when he passed for 2,558 yards and 17 touchdowns.
Jurkovec transferred to Pitt for his final season in 2023. He threw for 818 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions in six games before losing the starting job and briefly moving to tight end.
He went undrafted in 2024 and later participated in Pittsburgh Steelers minicamp but did not sign with the team.
The allegations against Jurkovec have not been proven in court.
