Team Penske's Joey Logano will lead the NASCAR Cup Series starting lineup at Kansas Speedway after rain washed out practice and qualifying.

The three-time Cup Series champion secured the pole position for Sunday's Chase race by winning last weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway and moving to third in the standings.
NASCAR's metric for inclement weather relies 70% on the previous race and 30% on the points standings.
Points leader Kyle Larson will start alongside Logano on the front row. He will be in a prime position to fight for the lead early as he seeks his fourth win at Kansas Speedway.

The rest of the top 10 will include Christopher Bell (Chase), Carson Hocevar (C), Ty Gibbs (C), Denny Hamlin (C), Bubba Wallace (C), William Byron (C), Ryan Preece (C), and Josh Berry.
The other drivers include Austin Cindric in 11th, Chris Buescher in 12th, Daniel Suarez in 14th, Tyler Reddick in 15th, Chase Elliott in 18th, Chase Briscoe in 23rd, and Ryan Blaney in 25th.
Kansas is the fourth race of the Chase schedule. It marks the third time during NASCAR's version of the postseason in which inclement weather has forced the cancellation of practice and qualifying.
This issue also arose at Bristol Motor Speedway and Darlington Raceway. Both times, Blaney had to start 24th or worse due to crashes in the previous races on the schedule. He recovered to finish fourth at Darlington, but he crashed at Bristol after contact from Carson Hocevar.
"I think the metric is very solid for kind of lining people up for qualifying on any weekend," Blaney told media members before the Bristol race. "And sometimes you have bad weeks or you don't finish good, and you're gonna qualify towards the front.
"Or you're gonna — if it rains out qualifying — you're gonna start at the back. So I don't really think it's something that needs to get too much traction, and this is from someone who's (been) bit by it a couple times in three weeks, but just kind of part of the game."
The Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway will take place on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET. USA Network will provide coverage with Leigh Diffey, Steve Letarte, and Jeff Burton in the booth.
