Kyle Larson captured his second win of the Chase on Sunday at Kansas Speedway, and he broke his own record in the process.

He set a new mark for the most laps led at the 1.5-mile track across all three national NASCAR series. He led 235 laps after starting from the pole, and he broke his previous record of 221 laps from the 2025 spring race.

Austin Cindric finished second at Kansas Speedway, his first top-10 finish at a 1.5-mile track this season. Denny Hamlin finished third. Chase Briscoe, who led 23 of the final 30 laps, crossed the line fourth after hitting the wall. Ryan Blaney rounded out the top five.

"I really thought when Chase got by, he was just going to stretch out, but I got some lines going where I could settle in and try to take care of my tires," Larson said after performing a massive burnout. "I don't know. I think it's just easier to be the hunter rather than the hunted.
"I think a lot of the same, like, with me out front, I'm just defending and trying to guess on what lines are fast. When he got in front of me, I could see he started getting really loose.
"Yeah, that was fun. That was such a good day. Max points. I was going to be happy with second with how the race went, but get the lead, that's a big deal for the points."
The points are significant for Larson, who aims to win his second consecutive title and his third since 2021. He entered the race weekend with a one-point lead over Hamlin. He left with a 26-point lead after sweeping the stages, winning the race, and scoring the Xfinity Fastest Lap.
The battle for the Cup Series championship will continue next week at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, a track where Larson has three wins.
The rest of the Chase schedule will feature Charlotte Motor Speedway, Phoenix Raceway, Talladega Superspeedway, Martinsville Speedway, and Homestead-Miami Speedway.
