The NFL has suspended line judge Jeff Seeman for two games and referee Adrian Hill for one. Both were disciplined for "an instance of unprofessional conduct toward a player," according to the league.
NFL vice president of officiating Ramon George issued the suspensions.
Seeman appeared to curse at Cardinals tight end Trey McBride during Arizona's game against the Giants at MetLife Stadium. The exchange followed a third-down incompletion with just under five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
Giants defensive back Andru Phillips made contact with McBride before the pass arrived, but officials did not call pass interference or illegal contact.
Video of Seeman's response prompted NFL Players Association executive director JC Tretter to publicly demand accountability.
This kind of behavior from an official towards a player is unacceptable. Players are consistently held accountable when the roles are reversed. We expect the NFL to hold officials to the same standard. pic.twitter.com/vawHA8Jrlt

Hill's suspension stems from a separate incident during the Vikings' game against the Dolphins.
Minnesota linebacker Eric Wilson accidentally collided with Hill, who then appeared to yell at him. FanBuzz previously covered the on-field exchange.

The incidents involved different crews and different games, but the league reached the same conclusion about both: The officials' conduct warranted suspensions.
