Jason Kelce's first game in the broadcast booth included a slip-up, a correction from his colleague, and an apology to Washington.

The former Eagles center used the Commanders' retired team name while discussing their defense during Sunday's game against the Colts in London, saying, "The Redskins are doing a great job of not only staying tight, but making the play when the ball is in the receiver's hand and keeping it short of the sticks.
Play-by-play announcer Dave Pasch caught the use of "Redskins," the now-retired Washington team name deemed offensive to Native Americans, immediately.
"Commanders. You did it," Pasch said.

Kelce fired back, "What'd I do?"
Pasch laughed and explained that Kelce had called the team by its old name.
"Oh my gosh! I almost made it out," Kelce responded, before adding, "Sorry, Washington."
The exchange came in the third quarter as Kelce praised Washington for limiting receivers after the catch and keeping them short of the first-down marker.
It also settled a small wager in the booth. Pasch said he, Kelce and fellow analyst Kurt Warner had a "little gentlemen's bet" over who would be the first to mistakenly use the former nickname.
Washington retired that name in 2020 following longstanding criticism that it was a racial slur against Native Americans. The franchise played two seasons as the Washington Football Team before becoming the Commanders in 2022.
Kelce already works as a studio analyst on ESPN's Monday Night Countdown. His expanded broadcasting schedule includes four NFL Network games with Pasch and Warner this season.
His next assignment comes Sunday, when the Eagles face the Jaguars. He is also scheduled to call Steelers-Saints on Oct. 25 and another game on Dec. 26.
