Jim Nantz took JJ Watt's instructions seriously during a football demonstration Sunday — and ended up with an ice pack on his wrist.

The CBS broadcasters were calling the Buffalo Bills-Las Vegas Raiders game when Watt demonstrated how players protect against the "Peanut Punch," a technique defenders use to knock the football loose.
With Watt holding the ball, Nantz was invited to test his partner's grip.
"I've actually talked to some guys around the league that they do a wrist-lock," Watt said. "So now, you lock everything in, Jim, go ahead, give that a good punch."
"Really?" Nantz asked.
"Hard as you've got, brother," Watt replied.
The 67-year-old announcer stood up and delivered a punch that caught the former NFL defensive end by surprise. The football, however, stayed in Watt's hands.
"That was so much harder than I thought you were gonna go," Watt said, laughing. "But the ball stayed!"
Nantz doubled over during the exchange and declared, "My wrist is broken."

That comment was not a confirmed diagnosis. The extent of any injury was unknown, though Nantz was holding an ice pack when cameras returned to the booth after a break.
The moment offered an unexpected interruption late in the game, with Watt's demonstration proving effective at protecting the football.
Nantz's wrist did not fare quite as well. After being encouraged to give the ball his best shot, the longtime broadcaster was left icing the result while his partner marveled at how hard he had swung.
