Monday evening, Samantha revealed The Widow's Wish Project. This is something that she will use over the holidays to bring a little extra light to those who need it. The nomination window has opened as of Nov. 2, and it will remain open through Nov. 9.
Those whose husbands have passed away can fill out a Google Docs form and explain how they and their children (if applicable) could use a little extra light this holiday season. Conversely, the form also allows for people to nominate someone they know who may be deserving.
According to Samantha, this project will support eight women and 18 families. These two numbers are those that her late husband, Kyle, used during his time competing in the Cup Series for Joe Gibbs Racing and Richard Childress Racing.
When I lost Kyle, my world changed in ways I never could have imagined. But even in the deepest heartache, God has continued to show me His love through the incredible people who have surrounded me, lifted us up, and carried me through days I never thought I could face.

"When I lost Kyle, my world changed in ways I never could have imagined," Samantha wrote. "But even in the deepest heartache, God has continued to show me His love through the incredible people who have surrounded me, lifted us up, and carried me through days I never thought I could face.
"As the holidays approach, my heart is especially with the families navigating this season without someone they love. I know firsthand how heavy this time of year can feel when someone who should be there is missing.
"I have been blessed beyond words by the kindness, generosity, and love others have shown our family. And as I continue to navigate this journey, I feel called to take some of that love and pour it into others who may need it most.
"That is why I am so grateful to introduce The Widow's Wish Project."
Supporting those in need became a goal for Samantha and Kyle over the years. They specifically focused on those who battled infertility.
The couple created the Bundle of Joy Fund in 2015 after being inspired by their journey with infertility and the birth of their son, Brexton.
This Bundle of Joy Fund has gone on to award more than $2 million in grants to help bring more than 100 babies into the world. It will continue to do support those on the infertility journey well into the future.
For now, however, Samantha will also use the holiday season to provide a different type of support to those who have experienced significant heartbreak and loss.
