Florida 2016 verbal commit: South Carolina game 'shouldn't have been that close'

No. 11 Florida defeated South Carolina 24-14 on Saturday.

No. 11 Florida beat South Carolina 24-14 on Saturday, but the game was a little shaky on Florida's side of things. The Gators took a 17-0 lead in the third quarter, but let South Carolina score two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to pull within three. Florida was able to score a touchdown to put the Gamecocks away, but Treon Harris throwing two interceptions as well as showing some major inconsistencies, made the Gators look just so-so on Saturday.

One Florida 2016 verbal commit, defensive back Jeawon Taylor (6-foot-2, 192 pounds, Montgomery, Al.) weighed in on the Gators' performance, and said that he thought the game shouldn't have been as close as it was.

"It shouldn't have been that close of a game." Taylor said via the Atlanta Journal Constitution. "We have to limit the turnovers."

Taylor committed to Florida in August of this year. Wide receiver commit Rick Wells (6-foot-0, 185 pounds, Jacksonville, Fla.) also added his thoughts to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

"I thought the win was good. The offense got things going faster late in the game. And the defense always plays lights out." Wells said.
