Jim Harbaugh is a "Michigan Man" in every way, and he reminded the public of that simple fact on Tuesday. The above video shows Harbaugh crushing a buckeye with a hammer on the grave of former Michigan coach Bo Schembechler, and it came as part of a grave walk in Ann Arbor.
The walk has been a tradition for nearly 20 years, and according to multiple sources, Harbaugh is the first active coach to participate. In addition to paying his respects to his former coach in Schembechler, Harbaugh was also seen leading the assembled masses in a rendition of Michigan's fight song, "The Victors", at the grave of former coach Fielding Yost.
Lastly, Harbaugh put forth a touching tribute to Chad Carr, the five-year-old grandson of former coach Lloyd Carr who passed away this week from brain cancer.
For all of the ridiculousness surrounding Harbaugh's public persona, this is an interesting side of the always entertaining coach. His passion for the University of Michigan is well-documented, and his presence among the fans and mourners on Tuesday shows it yet again.
